The UAE uses the Nice Classification of 45 classes, and from 27 January 2026 new applications are classified under its 13th edition. Businesses under the UAE National SME Programme receive a 50 percent discount on official fees, and People of Determination are exempt. Agent fees sit on top and vary by firm. A business that registers a UAE mark first can then use it as the basis to extend protection to more than 130 territories through one Madrid application filed via the Ministry of Economy as office of origin.
